3rd Graduate Conference in Civilization Studies

We are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Graduate Conference in Civilization Studies, titled “The Responsibility of Knowing: Perspectives Beyond Disciplines, Borders, and Classes,” which will take place on 14–15 May 2026 at Süleymaniye Salis Madrasa.

This year’s conference brings together scholars and graduate researchers working on questions of knowledge, epistemology, ethics, civilization, decolonization, AI, Islamic thought, education, media, and intellectual responsibility from interdisciplinary perspectives. We are especially happy to share that scholars from 13 countries and 22 universities will be represented throughout the conference.

Across two days, the conference will include panels on:

• Contemporary Muslim thought and epistemology
• AI, digital media, and algorithmic authority
• Decolonization of knowledge
• Educational reform and intellectual humility
• Knowledge production in everyday life
• Islamic intellectual traditions and modernity
• Ethics of knowing and civilizational crisis
