Ibn Khaldun University’s 2025–26 Academic Year Commencement Ceremony was held on June 27, 2026, at our University’s Başakşehir Campus, with the honorary presence of Prof. Burhanettin Duran, Head of Communications at the Presidency. At this year’s ceremony—the eighth of its kind—students graduating from undergraduate and graduate programs received their diplomas from their professors.
Our students graduating from the Institute of the Alliance of Civilizations’ master’s and doctoral programs also received their diplomas, marking the completion of an important stage in their academic journeys. Our graduates, who have contributed to the Institute’s academic environment through their work, research, and dedication, shared their joy of graduation with their families and faculty members during the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Best Doctoral Thesis Award—presented to support the research culture at our university and encourage graduate studies—was also presented to its recipient. Dr. Sena Taha, a graduate of the Institute of the Alliance of Civilizations’ Doctoral Program in Civilization Studies, was honored with the Best Doctoral Thesis Award for her dissertation titled “Writing Refugee Lives,” which was recognized as the best doctoral thesis written at Ibn Khaldun University during the 2025–26 academic year.
Since Dr. Sena Taha was not in Turkey at the time, the award was accepted on her behalf by our Institute Director, Assoc. Prof. Vahdettin Işık.
As the Alliance of Civilizations Institute, we congratulate our graduates and Dr. Sena Taha for this meaningful achievement, and we wish all our graduates success in their academic and professional lives.
