Assistant Professor Dr. I. Vehbi Baysan pursued his undergraduate studies in the Eastern Languages and Literature Department at Istanbul University, specializing in Arabic Language and Literature. Following graduation, he served as a researcher at IRCICA for a year. In 1989, he embarked on the post-graduate program in the Arabic Language and Literature program at Yarmouk University in Jordan. Notably, during this period, he initiated and established the Turkish Language program, a pioneering effort in the region.

In 1995, Dr. Baysan enrolled in the doctoral program at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Manchester in Britain, earning his PhD with a thesis titled "Ottoman State Education Policy During the Tanzimat – 1839-1876." Throughout his doctoral studies, he concurrently held positions as a lecturer at various prestigious institutions in the UK, including the University of Manchester, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and London School of Economics (LSE). Upon returning to Istanbul, he commenced his teaching career at Koç University and later transitioned to Yeditepe University, where he assumed roles as the Assistant Provost and Director of International Offices. Currently, Dr. Baysan serves as a full-time lecturer at the History Department of Ibn Haldun University since its establishment.
